The Rosso Conero is a wine which grows and ripens on the hills of the Conero Riviera, where the sun warms the grapes and the sea flavors them with its breeze.
Visit the vineyards and follow the path of the Rosso Conero. It links the lands of wine which cover a territory from Ancona to Osimo and Castelfidardo, passing through Sirolo, Camerano and Numana, following the coast and the countryside of the Riviera, where the scent of scotch broom and lavender are always present.
The Rosso Conero is a wine of ancient tradition, produced from Montepulciano grapevines and approved DOC in 1967. This wine has an intense ruby red colour, with violet nuances which turn garnet-red when it ripens. This wine is flavoured with prunes, liquorice and floral scents. It has a dry taste and is considered a full-bodied wine.
In 2004 also the Conero DOCG was approved. These wines, always derived from the Montepulciano, mature in wooden barrels for two years. This process gives the wine intense scents of spices and softens the tannins making them more pleasing.
Along this path, in every wine cellar, you will discover scents which tell stories of a wine which grows and ripens between the hills and the coast. You will be surprised in seeing the vineyards almost diving into the sea and you will taste a unique and special wine.
